Professor Hamilton named the 2025 winner of the William Henry Seward Award, for his book on “Lincoln vs Davis”.

In its Award Letter, the Committee on the William Henry Seward Award commented as follows: “we found your dual biography original, thought-provoking and extremely readable. To bring fresh insights on two of the most researched persons in American history is outstanding. A book like yours is why this prize was created in the first place. It was a unanimous selection by the committee.”
