A Gettysburg story (in the village)

Here’s a summary of the June 15th talk (thanks to Richard Asaro for the notes):

Liz Finnegan, first time author, spoke to the Forum of her historical fiction work, "Witness to Tribulation". The story, told in flashback, starts in 1997 in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, from the viewpoint of a 24 year old, Emily, who inherits her grandparents home. The home's secrets are revealed in a diary written by her great, great, grandmother, Amelia, when she was a young woman living in Gettysburg during the famous Civil War battle of July 1863. This fictious diary describes those three days that damaged, both physically and mentally. the community and her family. Liz Finnegan spoke of her annual pilgrimage with her own family tp Gettysburg starting in 1965, and how war impacted her own family. Her mother lived in Italy during World War II and her village was bombarded not unlike Gettysburg. These parallels inspired her to write her Gettysburg story.
