Guided tour of West Point Academy

The Forum is organizing a guided tour of key sites at the West Point Military Academy. We will meet at the Visitor Center at West Point at 10:30 AM to take a bus tour of the facilities which will start at 11 AM stopping at a number of special spots. Our guided tour will include stops at the cemetery where a number of famous soldiers and alums from West Point are buried. We will be given access to a number of sites not normally open to the public, including the chapel and Thayer Hall. We will watch a video on the typical life of a West Point Cadet. Then lunch at the Thayer Hotel. Afterwards we will be free for time at the military museum, then back to the Visitor Center before everybody goes home.

Transportation to the Visitor Center is not included, but folks from Manhattan with no car can take a bus from the Port Authority to West Point (which stops at the Visitor Center).

For anybody interested, please contact Evan Abraham [ threeabes@aol.com (516) 428-4359] by latest September 25th to reserve your ticket with the group. The West Point authorities require details three weeks prior to the event. We will need a Driver's License ID showing your date of birth, to gain entrance to the campus. Cost for the outing is $ 100 per person.
